Mental Health First Aid Youth Refresher Course
Evaluations consistently show that MHFA training is associated with improved knowledge of mental illnesses, their treatments and appropriate first aid strategies, and confidence in providing first aid to individuals with mental illness. It is also associated with decreased stigma and an increase in help
Who can attend the course?
Any adult who has completed a 14-hour YMHFA course or an Accredited YMHFAider can attend, to do the refresher course after 3 years. They will then gain an extra 3-years upskill qualification or Accreditation.
How do I sign up?
Please e-mail us a copy of your original YMHFA certificate from 2018 to verify that you are suitable for the Refresher course.
If you don't have access to your certificate, you can contact MHFA for verification of YMHFA course attendance

Mental Health First Aid Youth Blended / Virtual
This Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is designed for adults who work with young people. This includes teachers, education workers, youth workers, social workers and sports coaches. It also includes parents.
The course will teach you how to provide initial help to an adolescent who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem, or is experiencing a mental health crisis.
Adolescence is the peak age of onset for mental health problems. By completing this course, you will gain the confidence and knowledge to provide the best support possible young people.
